Where SPOR Group Started
Chris Gore and Chris Spence founded SPOR Group in 2019. The starting point was a kitchen table, a combined £100,000 of personal savings, a house on the line as a personal guarantee to open supplier trade accounts, and a conviction that the market deserved better than what it was getting.
Both had come from AVISPL, the largest AV company in the world. Both had watched quarter-of-a-million-pound projects get turned away because the A team was too busy on Tottenham's stadium. The organisations that needed ten meeting rooms done properly, at a reasonable price, with someone who would actually answer the phone afterwards, they were not being served.
SPOR Group was the answer to that. Not a revolutionary idea. Not a funded startup. A gap in the market, the right relationships to fill it, and the willingness to put everything on the line to do it.
What SPOR Group actually is
SPOR Group is a UK-based AV integration and workplace technology company founded in 2019 by Chris Gore and Chris Spence. The business designs, installs and manages meeting room technology for enterprise clients across the UK, Europe and globally.
That means everything from the camera and microphone in a standard meeting room to full boardroom builds with ceiling microphone arrays, PTZ cameras and dual large format displays. Every project is delivered using the DITAM framework: Design, Integrate, Train, Asset Manage, Monitor, and supported by SPORTrack, SPOR's own remote monitoring platform that watches every device in every room in real time.
The business manages over 1,500 meeting room sites globally, has 30 staff based in Maidenhead, and is on target for £7.2m in revenue in 2026.
What Being on the Founder 250 Means to Us

Recognition like this does not land the same way when you are a large corporate with a PR department. When it is two people who started from a kitchen table and have spent seven years building something real with a team of thirty people, it lands differently.
Every person at SPOR Group has contributed to this recognition. The engineers on site in Covent Garden working out how to solve a problem nobody anticipated at the design stage. The helpdesk team watching room devices through SPORTrack so clients never find out something was wrong. The account managers who have built the relationships that keep enterprise clients coming back. The project managers and the procurement team for making sure every project runs smoothly. This belongs to all of them.
For Chris Gore and Chris Spence personally, it is also a marker. The military background, the MBA, the years as account managers watching an opportunity nobody was taking, all of it led to this. A business that is on target for £7.2m so far this year, managing over 1,500 meeting room sites across the UK, Europe, Singapore, Sydney and Hong Kong, with a senior leadership team who now hold equity in what they have helped build.
What BusinessCloud and the Founder 250 Represents
The BusinessCloud Founder 250 is one of the most credible founder recognition lists in the UK because of what it is measuring. Not just revenue. Not just headcount. Growth, innovation and positive change. The businesses on this list are the ones making a genuine impact, building things that matter, doing it in a way that moves their sector forward. Being included in that company means a great deal to everyone at SPOR Group.
