From our first hire to Managing Director

Today we're proud to announce that Steph Kenny has been appointed Managing Director of SPOR Group SPOR Group | Updated 2026

Steph began her AV career in 2014 as a Procurement Assistant at AVI-SPL, rising to Procurement Manager over four years. She joined SPOR in March 2020 as our first hire, to look after procurement, with finance soon falling under the same remit.
Since then she has progressed through our senior leadership team as Head of Finance and Procurement, Financial Director and, most recently, Director of Finance and Operations. Now she steps up to lead the business.
Co-Founder and Group Strategic Director Chris Gore says:
“Chris and I first worked with Steph at AVI-SPL, and when we set up SPOR she was the first person we asked to join us. She has earned this the right way, one step at a time, and there is nobody who understands how SPOR works from the inside better than she does. I'm delighted to see her lead SPOR into its next phase.”
What this means for our clients and partners
Steph will lead SPOR Group day to day, with delivery, operations, service, finance and people all reporting into her. Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer Chris Spence will focus on strategy, new business and growth.
For our clients and partners, projects and support continue exactly as before, with the same teams and the same standards, now led by Steph. SPOR supports more than 1,500 meeting rooms for clients including the NFL, Accord Healthcare and Monzo, and that commitment does not change.
People first, then growth
Steph's first priority is our people. Building on the strong culture we have developed since SPOR was founded, she will continue to invest in our teams, empowering every department to deliver the highest standards of service and bringing colleagues across our locations even closer together.
Looking ahead, we will broaden our reach beyond our existing client base, which is concentrated around London. Steph, who is based at our Southport office, plans to build our presence in Liverpool, Manchester and the surrounding areas, creating a more regional footprint across the UK. A push for growth is planned for 2027, starting with the expansion of our sales team, and Steph is open to new sectors where dependable workplace technology is critical to how organisations operate.
The appointment follows our acquisition of interior design consultancy Squaredot, which broadens the services we can offer to organisations across the UK and Europe.
Growth means welcoming new clients as well as looking after existing ones. For any organisation weighing up a new meeting room or AV project, our AV pricing estimator is an easy first step, and our team will be ready to help from there.
A mark of progress for the industry
Women remain under-represented at the top of AV. AVIXA's report Pro AV: Are Women Fully Welcome? found that women made up just 9% of respondents to its global salary survey, and that no job category in AV had a lower share of women than senior leadership.
“I'm incredibly proud to be appointed Managing Director of SPOR Group, and particularly grateful to SPOR's founders, Chris Spence and Chris Gore, who have believed in me, supported my development and given me opportunities to progress throughout my time with the business. SPOR is already in a strong position, and I'm excited to build on those strengths as we extend our reach into new regions and continue to deliver the exceptional service our clients expect.”
“Working in a traditionally male-dominated industry, I recognise the importance of seeing women represented in senior leadership positions. I began my career in AV as a Procurement Assistant, and I hope my journey shows other women that hard work, determination and a willingness to keep learning can open doors, regardless of where your career begins.” - Steph Kenny
“Steph has been central to SPOR since she joined in 2020, and she has an unrivalled understanding of our business, our people and our clients. As we continue to evolve our proposition, she will play a pivotal role in shaping how we operate and driving the next phase of our growth.” - Chris Spence
Congratulations, Steph, and here is to the next chapter for SPOR Group.
