When a global clean energy company relocates its London headquarters, the pressure is on to get everything right and that includes the technology that keeps their people connected. Masdar, one of the world's leading renewable energy developers, needed a complete Audio-Visual overhaul at their new Paddington office. They turned to SPOR Group to deliver it. Here's how we did it and what the end result looks like.

The Challenge: Modern Offices Demand Modern AV
Masdar's Paddington office sits in the heart of one of London's most dynamic business districts. With a global team and a relentless meeting schedule, their conference rooms needed to work, every time, without fuss. The brief was clear: simple to use, intuitive, and built on the Microsoft Teams Rooms platform.
That sounds straightforward enough. But anyone who has managed an enterprise AV rollout knows the reality is anything but. You're coordinating hardware across multiple rooms, aligning with IT teams, managing scheduling systems, and making sure that a PA, a VP, and a visiting client can all walk in and start a meeting without needing a 10-minute tutorial. The margin for error is zero.
The project value came in at £100,000 — a significant investment that needed to deliver real, lasting value across every conference space in the building.
The Solution: Best-in-Class Technology, Deployed Properly
SPOR Group designed and installed a fully integrated AV solution across all conference rooms, anchored by a carefully selected stack of enterprise-grade hardware. Here's what went in:
Samsung Commercial Displays — Large-format commercial-grade screens in every room, including the boardroom. These aren't your standard TVs. Commercial displays are built for all-day, every-day use, with better brightness, longer lifespans, and remote management capabilities that consumer panels simply can't match.
HP/Poly Microsoft Teams Rooms System — The Studio Video Bar paired with the TC8 Touch Controller forms the backbone of the meeting room experience. It's a Microsoft-certified solution, which means it integrates natively with Teams — no workarounds, no compatibility headaches, no gremlins. One tap and you're in the meeting.
Shure IntelliMix Conferencing Audio — The boardroom received an upgrade with Shure's Microflex Advance Ceiling Array Microphone. Audio is consistently the thing that breaks hybrid meetings. People on the call can't hear the room, the room can't hear remote participants, and everyone wastes the first five minutes fiddling with mute buttons. Shure's ceiling array solves this by distributing microphone coverage evenly across the room — no dead spots, no feedback, no complaints.
Crestron Room Scheduling Touch Screens — Mounted on the outside of each conference room, the Crestron panels give instant visibility of room availability. Anyone walking past can see at a glance whether a room is free, when it's next available, and book it on the spot through the Microsoft Teams integration. It's a small detail that makes a big difference to daily life in the office.
The Boardroom: A Step Up
Not all rooms are created equal, and the boardroom got the full treatment. Alongside the Samsung display and HP/Poly Teams Rooms solution, SPOR installed enhanced Shure audio — the Microflex Advance Ceiling Array Microphone — to ensure that high-stakes meetings sound as polished as they look. When you're hosting senior leadership or external partners, the last thing you need is an audio drop-out mid-sentence.
The Result: A Slick, Future-Ready AV Environment
The outcome is exactly what Masdar needed — a slick, consistent AV solution deployed across every conferencing space, all running on the Microsoft Teams Rooms platform, all manageable from a single pane of glass. Every room looks the same, works the same, and behaves predictably. That consistency is not an accident. It's the result of proper design, proper integration, and a managed services approach that thinks beyond the install.
Siobhan Partridge, Office Manager for Global Offshore Wind & UK at Masdar, put it simply:
"Can't fault the support and service provided by all the team at SPOR. I would definitely recommend SPOR to others."
That kind of feedback doesn't happen by accident. It comes from a team that shows up, communicates clearly, and delivers what they say they're going to deliver — from design through to post-installation support.
Why This Project Matters
The Masdar project is a good example of what enterprise AV should look like in 2024 and beyond. The days of cobbling together different systems from different vendors and hoping they play nicely are over. Organisations need a unified platform, purpose-built hardware, and a delivery partner who can be held accountable across the whole lifecycle — not just the installation day.
Microsoft Teams Rooms has become the dominant platform for meeting room technology in enterprise environments for good reason. When it's deployed correctly — with the right hardware, the right integrations, and the right ongoing support — it genuinely transforms how people collaborate. Masdar now has a London HQ built for that reality.
